This week our team has really started to apply some pressure to the gas and order the needed parts for our vehicle.  Cables were ordered and received from McMaster-Carr so that a laptop can communicate with the fuel cell.  Also, filled hydrogen storage tanks were ordered from the Penn State General Store and should be arriving shortly.  We are still looking to purchase a new 5-point harness for our driver, as well as a bluetooth headset or other handsfree communication device for our driver.  With only one week before spring break, we are getting much closer to an operational fuel cell vehicle.  Once our fuel cell is ready for testing, we will have a greater opportunity to analyze the type of supercapacitors we can use for this application.

The progress on the car is coming along well. The team installed the fuel cell this past Wednesday, and we are currently trying to track down the parts we need to install the hydrogen tank and wiring. We plan to have all ordering done this week in order to finish work by March 23. We plan to test the car starting on that date.

Welcome

Welcome to the PSU Ec0-Marathon blog. Hopefully in the next few weeks we will be able to post status reports concerning the work on our ultra-high mileage fuel cell vehicle. We will be competing in the Shell Ec0-Marathon starting April 15.
